The Hendra Pony Club advises all prospective members that smoking is prohibited on our grounds (except on event days, when visitors are permitted to smoke at their vehicle only).

Membership Applications are made through the PCQ website (note: the price for HPC membership is decided at our Annual General Meetings every year).

Memberships will not be processed unless paid for (ie; via credit card on the PCAQ website).   Memberships are approved at our monthly Committee meetings.

Only processed members will be covered by insurance as every new year starts.

Any agisters that have not had their membership processed risk losing their agistment spot.

Members under 18yrs must have a minimum of 1 parent as a social member. Children under 16yrs must be supervised by an adult at all times while on HPC grounds. Only members 17yrs and over (ie; Associates and over) are permitted to ride without a supervising adult, however we recommend that NO member ride on their own at any time.   

Current membership fee's (ie; PCAQ Fee + Club Fee = Membership Fee) can be found on the PCQ website. However if you need assistance with working out your membership fee please contact our Secretary.

Agistment southern paddock: $70

Agistment northern paddock $65

Non-agisting member ground access levy: $200pa

Refundable club gate key: $50

New Members Information

All requests for new membership will be discussed at the next scheduled management meeting held monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (either at the club house or Norths Devils) at 7pm, (attendance at the meeting is not required). This applies for riders wishing to also agist their child's horse with us.  

Membership applications are lodged online via PCQ, the request is then directed to our Club Secretary for processing. Once approved an acceptance email will be sent via the PCQ Omni-Sports portal. Membership is NOT automatically authorized - requests are only approved after committee have discussed and approved.

We suggest all prospective new members come along to a few musters first and speak to the members to see if our pony club is what you are looking for and to see if our facilities and regulations meet your needs.

All members 18yrs and over need to have a blue card. If you don't have a blue card the club can help you arrange one.

The management committee strictly enforce our code of conduct and agistment regulations therefore there must be full cooperation by all members. 

17 years and under members, and their horses, are the responsibility of their parents.

18yrs and over are responsible for their own actions and horse issues.

Hendra Pony Club welcomes new members who want to experience pony club and enjoy being around their favourite friends "Horse's and Pony's". Members are able to meet new people and join a family orientated group, who like to watch their children ride.

Members are asked to help out when events are being run at the club as it takes quite a few hands to run a day while the kids get to have the best fun.

There are some requirements to being a member, as Pony Club is based around kids and horses. Attendance by riding members at our events (either riding or helping) is required to be eligible for "points earned trophies" at the end of the year on Trophy Day. 

Agisting members have special requirements for a horse to remain on the grounds (see Agistment regulations).


Hpc take Harassment seriously and will not tolerate any form of harassment. Please look at the policy's set out by Pcaq to make sure everyone understands the policy.

Here are some key words extracted from these policies.


This policy applies to all riding and non-riding members, parents/guardians, coaches, employees, administrators, officials and volunteers of the Pony Club Association of Queensland (PCAQ). This policy applies to behaviour occurring both within and outside the course of the PCAQ's business, activities and events, when the behaviour involves individuals associated with the PCAQ and negatively affects relationships within our sport and work environment. This policy applies to harassment occurring between any participants in the organisation. Harassment may occur, for example, from

Abusive behaviour aimed at humiliating or intimidating someone in a less powerful position; Jokes or comments directed at a person’s body, looks, age, race, religion, sexual orientation or disability, Unwelcome remarks including teasing, name calling or insults, Innuendo or taunting, Homophobic comments and/or behaviours; Staring, leering, ogling.

Jokes and behaviour, which are genuinely enjoyed and consented to by everyone present, are not harassment. Sexual interaction or flirtation that is based on mutual attraction or friendship, and which is consensual or up with behaviour they find harassing, especially if they hold a subordinate position relative to the group or individual engaging in the flirtatious or jovial behaviour. It is the responsibility of all people covered by this the behaviour is primarily directed.


Pony Club Association of Queensland Inc. CODES OF BEHAVIOUR


1. Play by the rules. 2. Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your captain, coach or manager approach the official at a suitable time. 3. Control your temper. Verbal abuse of official and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any sport. 4. Work equally hard for yourself and /or your team. Your team’s performance will benefit so will you. 5. Be a good sport. Applaud all good performances whether by your team or the opposition. 6. Treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor. 7. Co-operate with your instructor, teammates and opponents. Without them there would be no competition. 8. Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and instructors. 9. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

Parents 1. Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment, as well as yours. 2. Encourage children to participate, do not force them. 3. Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing. 4. Encourage children always to play according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence. 5. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making mistake or losing a competition. 6. Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performances and skilful plays by all participants. 7. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities. 8. Show appreciation for instructors, officials and administrators. Without them, your child could not participate. 9. Never abuse or belittle instructors, judges, stewards or administrators, especially in front of children or bystanders. If you have a legitimate complaint there are proper procedures to follow. 10. At all times teach and encourage a child to show good sportsmanship, especially in adversity. Again, remember that children learn best by example. 11. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background and religion.

Horse Health Declaration Form

The new form to be used when attending any Zone 1 events is attached. Please print off and take the copy with you when you attend events. It is up to the committee at any event if a sick horse is to be removed from venue. If an outbreak occurs at an event it will be announced at the event if the whole grounds are quarantined at the event or if only the sick horse is to be taken away. This all depends on what kind of outbreak has occurred.
